Position: Medical Receptionist - Patient Support Clerk
Category: Support Staff | Location: Tampa

Responsibility for answering all incoming telephone calls to the center, scheduling of patient appointments and assisting in the retrieval and filing of medical records.  Reports to the Office Manager.

Duties include and are not limited to:

  1. Answers and directs all incoming telephone calls received by the center and monitors the telephone to confirm that all calls have been answered.

  2. Schedules all appointments directly with the patient or by telephone when necessary.

  3. Reschedules appointment as required by the provider via telephone or mail-out cards.

  4. Calls and confirms appointments 24-48 hours in advance.

  5. Maintains all appointment logs.

  6. Obtains proof of insurance and assures that appropriate insurance forms/cards are incorporated into the patient’s record.

  7. Collects appropriate data for recording of patient visit information; verifies and enters all corrections into the data information system.

  8. Informs the answering service when the center is on and off line and forwards answering service messages to the appropriate staff.

  9. Assist co-workers in coding records, scanning and filing charts.  Helps ensure all records and contents are properly identified with name and record number.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High School graduate or equivalent
  2. Minimum of six months of academic training in an allied health related field or six months of academic training in a related health business management area.  The academic training requirement may be substituted by appropriate experience and skills. 
  3. Demonstrate and apply mature communications skills with the general public and co-workers.
  4. Demonstrate basic computer skills and ability to master computer data entry to document patient data.

Position: Medical Assistant
Category: Clinical | Location: Tampa

Position requires a person with accredited training as a medical assistant.  Provide basic assistance to the medical provider, assist other members of the team and assure that the patient and the environment are in readiness for the examination by the provider.  The Medical Assistant  is supervised by the Nurse Manager.

Duties include and are not limited to:

Clinical duties:

  1. Measure vital signs (BP, TPR, height and weight) and physical profile specific to patient age.
  2. Assist provider with special procedures to include observation of clients on aerosolized nebulizer treatments, simple non-sterile dressings, EKG, and other examination or treatments within scope of training.
  3. Obtain immunizations for administration under direct observation by the supervisor or provider
  4. Assist with specimen collection, packaging and preparation for transportation to laboratory.
  5. Perform simple waived medical laboratory procedures at the direction of the physician.
  1. Adheres to all privacy, safety and OSHA protocols.

Support duties:

  1. Obtain diagnostic report and include in medical record for review by provider during patient examination.
  2. All other duties within the Medical Assistant, Medical Technician license.

Unit maintenance:

  1. Clean, package and sterilize instruments.
  2. Clean and maintain patient care equipment to include sphygmomanometer, nebulizers, autoclave, scales and all other equipment used in patient care.
  3. Clean and stock work areas, examination rooms, treatment rooms and laboratories.
  1. Empties and bags all biohazard waste from the clinical area.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High School graduate or equivalent.
  2. Graduate of an accredited school with certificate as a Medical Assistant or Medical Technician.
  3. Trained to practice the occupation and at least six (6) months of experience as a Medical Assistant or Medical Technician.
  4. Demonstrate and apply mature communications skills with the general public and co-workers.
  5. Demonstrate basic computer skills and ability to master computer data entry to document patient data.

Position: Physicians, ARNP and Physician’s Assistant
Category: Clinical | Location: Tampa

Functions within the medical setting as a member of the Service Team in providing medical care.

Specific role as Physician or Mid-Level, appropriate to professional training and license.  Reports to the Chief Medical Officer.

Duties include and are not limited to:

  1. Emphasis placed on Clinical Measures, which are divided into lifecycle sub-categories, and include: Perinatal; Pediatric; Adolescent; Adult; Geriatric.

  1. Follows AMA/AOA ethical standards of practice.
  2. As primary care provider is responsible for total medical care of patients.  Physician role includes hospitalization, if physician has privileges at the admitting hospital.
  3. Must maintain legible and proper customary documentation in all patient charts including progress notes and completion of chronic medication/problem list.
  4. Responsible for referral of patients to specialists, when required.
  5. Attendance at meetings as required.
  6. Must participate in peer review audits.
  7. Must maintain a valid Florida State License appropriate to role, and Physician also must maintain valid DEA status.
  8. Cooperate with the front desk staff/insurance clerks, providing the necessary data; including, proper diagnosis, level of visit and return visit, procedures, etc.
  9. Participate in pharmacy formulary revisions and follow established formality.
  10. Must maintain TFHC standards of productivity.  An incentive plan for Physicians is established for productivity above the norm.
  11. Must follow current TFHC clinical care guidelines and participate in the ongoing development of new guidelines.
  12. Physicians must supervise the ARNP or Physician Assistants’ performance, as assigned, with chart review and cosign as necessary.
  1. Adheres to all privacy, safety and OSHA protocols.

Minimum Qualifications:

1.      Current valid license in the State of Florida appropriate to role as Physician, ARNP or PA.

2.      Current valid DEA Certificate for Physicians.

Position: Dental Assistant

Assist the Dental Director, Dentist, and Hygienists in the care and treatment of patients.  Performs varied duties including patient reception, chairside assisting, inventory and records.  Performs all duties according to Florida statute as it pertains to dental assisting.  Supervised by the Dentist, and/or Office Manager.

Duties include and are not limited to:

  1. Assists the dentists and hygienists in chairside procedures.
  2. Preparation and set up of instruments, materials, and equipment necessary for each procedure.
  3. Sterilization of instruments, and the cleaning and routine maintenance of equipment and work areas.

  5. Helps implement the processing of encounters, billing and bookkeeping procedures.
  6. Maintains inventory of supplies and materials, and accurate documentation.

Position: Dentist

Provide professional dental care in the diagnosis and treatment of patients and assists the director in developing and implementing the dental program.

Position: Dental Hygienist

Performs professional dental care in the field of dental hygiene including all related clinical procedures.  Has broad responsibilities for clinical and community dental health education activities. Reports to the Dental Director, or the Dentist.

Duties include and are not limited to:

  1. Provides following clinical services: Oral prophylaxis; instruction for proper home care techniques for oral hygiene including proper tooth brushing, flossing, nutrition, and need for professional care; topical fluorides; screen and evaluate patients regarding cavaties detection, periodontal pathology, medical history; exposing, processing, and mounting of radiographs, supra and sub gingival scaling and curettage; root planning; procedures involving team periodontal surgical techniques; performing of expanded duties where qualified, as delegated by dentist and governed by Florida Law
  2. Administration of local anesthetics; and gross debridement in treatment of acute periodontal conditions.
  3. Primarily responsible for the initiation and maintenance of the dental prevention and dental education program.
  4. Assists in the training of dental assistants and in the precepting of dental hygiene students.
  5. Supervision over dental assistants and other assigned personnel.
  6. An ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Graduation from an accredited School of Dental Hygiene.
  2. Possession of a current Florida license as a registered dental hygienist, and current CPR certification.
  3. Knowledge and practice of preventative dentistry, all phases of dental hygiene and skill in the techniques of oral hygiene procedures and the use of equipment, instruments, and materials.

Position: Psychiatrist
Category: Clinical | Location: Tampa

Responsible for psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis and treatment plan development to perform medical home, team leading functions for psychiatric patients.  Reports to the Medical Director. 

Duties include and are not limited to:

  1. Performs psychiatric evaluation as needed.

  2. Conducts individual, family, group and medication consultation sessions as appropriate.

Position: IT Support Specialist
Category: Support Staff | Location: Tampa

 Reports To:  Chief Information Officer

Position Summary: Provide technical software and hardware support to all TFHC users.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide users with software and hardware troubleshooting support and guidance in a timely manner.

  2. Intake, prioritization, documentation and follow-up of all IT department help desk tickets.

  3. Identify and notify supervisor of any urgent or concerning findings in a timely manner.

Other Duties:

  1. Provides status updates and reports to supervisor.

  2. Assist and collaborate with various departments on support issues or projects.  

  3. Create and generate reports from multiple IT systems, whether scheduled or ad-hoc.

  4. Identify needs for function-specific new policies and procedures.

  5. Safe driving and operation of a vehicle as necessary to perform job duties. Must have reliable transportation and proof of insurance.  

Knowledge and Experience:

  1. Knowledge of PC hardware components.

  2. Health IT, A+ and/or Network+ Certifications preferred.

  3. Demonstrated ability and skill in written communication and interpersonal skills.

  4. Must become well versed in TFHC clinical and operational policies and procedures.

Education:

Associates degree in related field or professional experience of 3 or more years with equivalent skills, training and application.

Position: Patient Navigator
Category: Support Staff | Location: Tampa

Reports To:  Clinical Care Program Manager

Position Summary:  The Patient Navigator conducts telephonic outreach to patients in need of health care services.

 

Essential Functions: 

  1. Educate patients about the importance of receiving health care services.

  2. Schedule appointments for patients.

  3. Document the outcome of the outreach efforts in the patients’ EMR record and on an Excel spreadsheet.

  4. Complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner. 

General Duties: There are no other duties for this position that are not listed under the essential functions.  This is a focused position.

 

Knowledge and Experience:

  1. Posses the ability to retain a vast of information as it pertains to quality health measures.

  2. Possess the ability to deal maturely with the general public and fellow staff members.

  3. Possess basic computer skills and have the ability to master the computer data entry requirements to document electronic patient data.

Education, Certification, Training and License:

  1. High School graduate or equivalent.
